I’m always on the lookout for new outfit ideas, and ways to make immodest clothing more modest. Since we are in a new season, I thought it would be fun to put some new ideas together that will keep one warm as the weather turns cooler.
I love the orange color of this maxi dress for fall. Pair it with a white, black, or gray tank underneath, and you are good to go.
Maxi – JCPenney
Cardigan – JCPenney
Flats – Kohl’s
This second one combines two of my favorite colors for the season: teal and fuchsia.
Modesty Tip: If you are looking for tanks with a modest neckline, Land’s End has some great choices.
Maxi – Old Navy
Tank – Land’s End
Boot – Kohl’s
And for the comfy, casual kind of day, nothing is better than a hoodie and maxi skirt. This skirt has pockets which I think is a major plus! I took pockets for granted when I wore mostly jeans. Now that I wear skirts, I’m always ecstatic to find one with pockets!
Hoodie – Old Navy
Skirt – Down East Basics
Flats – Land’s End
Tell me what you think about the outfits in the comments below. I love to hear from you guys!
P.S. – Can you tell I love maxis? 😉

When I first started dressing more modestly, I enjoyed looking at all of the clothing at online stores dedicated to selling modest apparel. However, in the season of life that my husband and I are in, we simply cannot afford to buy new clothing very often. We like to go with the motto the Duggar family has made popular: “Buy used, and save the difference!”
It’s actually quite easy to find modest clothing on the cheap. Checking out the local thrift stores and garage sales on weekends are the best places to go looking. Here is my latest garage sale find.
It’s a super cute and comfy maxi dress with lace detailing on the shoulder straps. I paired with a heathered gray t-shirt from Kohl’s to get make it more modest. This dress was only 5 dollars! The lady said it was brand new, and had never even been worn. Needless to say, I had to have it. I could live in this dress; it is so comfy!
With Maxi dresses or skirts made out of this thin, stretchy material, it is sometimes easy to see lines from underneath. I always make sure to wear a slip, and I have an extra long one for maxi dresses.
God bless you ladies. Continue to point towards Christ in the way you are dressed. It is all about Him. We are created for His glory, so let us glorify Him in the way that we dress.
