Frugal Modesty

When I first started dressing more modestly, I enjoyed looking at all of the clothing at online stores dedicated to selling modest apparel. However, in the season of life that my husband and I are in, we simply cannot afford to buy new clothing very often. We like to go with the motto the Duggar family has made popular: “Buy used, and save the difference!”

It’s actually quite easy to find modest clothing on the cheap. Checking out the local thrift stores and garage sales on weekends are the best places to go looking. Here is my latest garage sale find.

It’s a super cute and comfy maxi dress with lace detailing on the shoulder straps. I paired with a heathered gray t-shirt from Kohl’s to get make it more modest. This dress was only 5 dollars! The lady said it was brand new, and had never even been worn. Needless to say, I had to have it. I could live in this dress; it is so comfy!Image

Modesty Tip:

With Maxi dresses or skirts made out of this thin, stretchy material, it is sometimes easy to see lines from underneath. I always make sure to wear a slip, and I have an extra long one for maxi dresses.Image

God bless you ladies. Continue to point towards Christ in the way you are dressed. It is all about Him. We are created for His glory, so let us glorify Him in the way that we dress.
